The conference exactly aligns with the theme of ‘Innovative approaches for eco-friendly solutions’ and serves to bring eminent researchers from academia and industry from all around the world for critical examination and discussion on the challenges and new opportunities towards sustainable development and eco-friendly solutions on a single platform. The conference highlights the importance of industrial chemistry in the real world in everyday life within the areas of health, electronics, transport, etc., and focuses on reducing or eliminating the use of hazardous substances, minimizing waste generation, and optimizing energy efficiency. The conference provides a dynamic platform for several national and international researchers, innovators, practitioners, and industrial personnel to share and discuss their edge-cutting ideas and discoveries in sustainability and eco-friendly solutions. The brainstorming session helps to build a worldwide network and facilitates collaborative research proposals both nationally and internationally.
Aligarh Muslim University
Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) occupies a unique position amongst central universities and institutions of higher learning in the country. It was established in 1920 and evolved out of the Mohammedan Anglo-Oriental (MAO) which was set up on 7 January 1877 by the great visionary and social reformer, Sir Syed Ahmad Khan. From its very inception, it welcomed members of all communities irrespective of cast, creed & economic background from all corners of the country and the world. Spread over 467.6 hectares in the city of Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, Aligarh Muslim University offers more than 300 courses in the traditional and modern branches of education. It draws students from all corners of the country and from different parts of the world, especially Africa, West Asia, and Southeast Asia.According to the latest NIRF ranking. AMU maintains 8th rank among the top 20 research universities in India. Despite the establishment of several universities and institutions of higher learning all over the country, AMU has been maintaining its national and international character as an institution of excellence. It has more than 37327, students with 13 faculties comprising 121 departments of studies, 3 academies, and 21 centres and institutes. It is one of the largest residential universities in the country with 19 halls of residence comprising 80 hostels.
DEPARTMENT OF INDUSTRIAL CHEMISTRY
The Department of Industrial Chemistry is the 120th department of the University established recently under the Faculty of Science. The Hon'ble President of India in her capacity as Visitor of the Aligarh Muslim University has approved the establishment of a separate Department of Industrial Chemistry at AMU in Oct 2022. However, the BSc and MSc courses in Industrial Chemistry have been running since 1993 and 1996 respectively in the Department of Chemistry AMU.The programs of Industrial Chemistry are fully job-oriented with a very good placement record and the students of Industrial Chemistry are being placed in reputed companies like IOCL, Sun Pharma, Asian Paints, Siegwerk India Pvt. Ltd. etc. The students are also making an impact at the international level by admitting to higher studies in some of the prestigious institutes such as the University of Texas (USA), University of British Colombia (Canada), Imperial College (London), Cranfield University (UK), Fribourg University (Switzerland), University of Paris (France), Deakin University (Australia), etc. Moreover, some of the students of industrial chemistry are the recipients of the Common Wealth scholarship, Marie-Curie scholarship, Shastri Indo-Canadian Shastri fellowship, Erasmus Mundus fellowship, etc. Besides, the students are also qualifying for national-level tests e.g. IIT-JAM, GATE, and NET as well as international competitive exams like TOEFL, and GRE.
